I feel love

In yesterdays post Cherry Sorbet I shared with you my love for Valentines day. Valentines day originated as a day of feasting in honour of Saint Valentine, and then in the 1700's when courting became popular, it became a day to exchange cards and confectionary to your loved ones. Hearts, doves, flowers and cupid became it's trademark symbols.
Although many argue that you should treat every day like Valentines day, I feel that it's an opportunity to make an extra bit of effort for your partner and celebrate you both as a couple. It's an excuse to reflect, celebrate and immerse yourself in the beautiful Valentines aesthetic that fills stores, garments and restaurants surrounding the day.
I've collated some of my favourite Pinterest imagery to inspire and get you in the mood for Saint Valentines:

Above i've put together some beautiful Valentines themed items which you could gift for a partner or loved one, or treat yourself too. Kate Spade have a beautiful selection of Valentines inspired jewellery and leather goods which I defiantly recommend exploring. The Sophie Hulme key chain would be a lovely gift for your partner male or female, but if in doubt a box of champagne truffles and a rose scented candle never go a miss.
