Honey Loves: January

Although January is not quite over yet, I've put together some things that I've been particularly loving so far this month. Despite the evenings already starting to get lighter, it's still reasonably chilly here which is the perfect excuse to wear endless amounts of knitwear and spend my evenings wrapped up in blankets with a good book.
The jumper photographed below is my knitwear of choice at the moment and is another New Look find (read post: silver soles here). I normally avoid turtlenecks because I'm prone to moments of panic, during which the last thing you want is tightness around your neck. However, this jumper is a very casual fit, and doesn't feel particularly clingy. Plus i bought it in a couple sizes up because I find that baggy jumpers are cosier and more comfortable! The jumper is very soft and easy to dress. It comes in a variety of shades including, brown, pumpkin, soft pink and olive green.

I purchased the Kylie Cosmetics lip metal in 'Reign' Early December, and have literally been wearing it non stop since. It was my first Kylie cosmetics purchase and it really is my everyday lip product without fail. 'Reign' is quite a dark metallic brown. It feels creamy and slightly mousey on application and then the formula quickly dries to a point where you don't feel like there's anything on your lips. The lip metal is incredibly long lasting, I only tend to re-apply it once during the day if that. The one downside to this product is that the custom charge cost more than the product itself. This is defiantly something to consider before purchasing!
I'm about a third of the way into this book and it's just lovely. The novel starts in Florence where eighteen year old Gus and Tess' paths briefly cross before they both go home to start university. The book then follows their lives and the challenges they face, with the reader questioning if they'll ever meet again. What I love about this book is that it's incredibly well written. The story is light and very easy to read and the characters very relatable. If your a fan of reads like One Day and Funny Girl then this ones for you.
I haven't been able to stop thinking about La La Land since Sam took me to see it last Friday and since then I have had the soundtrack on constant repeat. The film follows the romance between  aspiring actress Mia and Jazz pianist Sebastian and is both romantic and uplifting. In some scenes you'll find yourself laughing and then in others you'll be crying, this is how cinema should make you feel! The film is set out like a musical, Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling burst out into song and dance frequently with clear nods to classics such as Singing in the Rain. Stone and Goslings singing and dancing is very tasteful and classic, Gosling even learning piano for the role. The songs are beautiful, City of Stars and Another Day of Sun being two of my favourites.
More of an all time love; I have been reading What Olivia Did for years now. Here Liv blogs all things fashion, beauty and lifestyle with the most beautiful, aesthetically pleasing photographs. I love her style and it's her outfit posts that I most look forward to reading over breakfast. However recently she's been travelling OZ which gave me a great deal of wanderlust. What Olivia Did is definitely worth a read.
